Story
Hearts to Home is a Middle and High School Club that began many years ago at Bronxville High School. The club raises money throughout the year to support local veterans. We spend the majority of the year fundraising for our largest event, the annual Spring Bike Build. In partnership with the USO of Metropolitan New York, the club purchases and builds children’s bikes to donate to local military families. This summer, the club decided to join the Battle of the Branches Virtual Half-Marathon and 5K Run/Walk. Please consider joining our Hearts to Home team and supporting our military.
In the New York metropolitan region, approximately 5,200 service members remain deployed and continue to support COVID-19 relief efforts. USO of Metropolitan New York has supported our military since relief efforts began and will continue to do so until their mission is complete. Each day, they distribute snacks, beverages, morale-boosting meals, toiletries, cleaning supplies, and other critical resources across dozens of locations where our service members are living and working. To date, they have distributed over 1.1 million items, but more is needed. As our region begins the process of reopening, our military will continue to carry out critical missions in our communities. While we may be past the crisis stage of this pandemic, we will need our military more than ever to deliver the manpower required to help us move into a post-COVID-19 world. USO of Metropolitan New York will continue to stand by the side of our military.
