Story
As part of a college project called First Give, students think about social issues in their local area and learn about charities that work to address them. After choosing a charity, the students then support their chosen charities through direct social action.
Level 2 Health & Social Care students from Shipley College have chosen to support Cancer Support Yorkshire. As part of the groups' social action, a student called Asim would like to shave his head to be able to raise funds for the charity.
Cancer Support Yorkshire is a small, independent charity providing practical & emotional support to individuals and families affected by cancer.
Support includes advice on welfare rights, counselling services, well-being groups, and transports for hospital appointments.
