Story
Some people fear cancer. I fear pulmonary fibrosis which my Dad is suffering from. I, along with family and friends, are raising money for the patient driven charity, Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis, to help patients like my Dad living with the disease and others who develop it in the future.
Pulmonary Fibrosis is a terminal condition which causes thousands of deaths in the UK each year. Scar tissue replaces a person’s healthy lungs and the scarring is permanent once it is developed. There is currently no cure. At the moment treatment is aimed at improving symptoms and certain medications may be used to try to slow progression of the disease.
The Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis charity supports patients with the disease and their families, supports research to improve outcomes and promote understanding, educates the medical profession, decision makers and the wider public about the disease and campaigns to represent patient interests.
I and my fundraising family and friends really hope you can help by donating, carrying out a challenge to raise money through this web page and/or sponsoring actions to support the work of the charity. Thank you from us and a special thank you from my Dad.
