Grace is fundraising for two charities that have helped her massively - the Children's Health Foundation and Down Syndrome Ireland.

I have a newly published book - 'Essential Skills for Physiotherapists: A Personal and Professional Development Framework'. This paved the way for an event at the Tate Modern, London, October 30th where I mentioned a huge 'why' behind this book for me...sharing all my book royalties with the Children's Health Foundation and Down Syndrome Ireland, due to the care and service for my daughter, Grace.

Grace has had an atrioventricular septal defect and valve repair for her heart - and a constant battle with respiratory infections, leading to recurrent investigations, admissions and treatments in hospitals like Temple St., and Crumlin. She regularly attends both hospitals for a variety of other medical appointments such as video fluoroscopy, chest physiotherapy, audiology and ophthalmology. Both hospitals help Grace all the time.

Proceeds from this campaign will be split between both charities, with specific allocations of funds raised for Children’s Health Foundation to both Crumlin Cardiac Department & Temple Street Respiratory, along with Down Syndrome Ireland.

Grace loves to read, paint, and play with a ball. Her favourite pastime is playing with her older brother Michael, who is wonderful with her. She loves prepping his school lunch:)

*Children’s Health Foundation raises vital funds to support sick children and their families in CHI hospitals and urgent care centres – from funding vital life-saving equipment and providing essential patient and parental supports to making ground-breaking, paediatric research possible.

*Down Syndrome Ireland is dedicated to being the primary source of information and support to people with Down syndrome, their families and the professional community. We are working towards an improved quality of life for our members along with a respect and acceptance of people with Down syndrome.

Donations are sent on a monthly basis and will include all the donations made in the previous month. This fundraising page will always reflect the amount we have raised, the total does not diminish as we send the funds over. Therefore each of you contributing to this worthy cause are always able to keep track of the funds given for the two chosen charities. I have put no limit on this as I want to keep this going. These funds will be put to great use for people who need support.
