Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am FORTY later this year and I want to use this “occasion” to do something special.
If you knew me long enough, you will know that I like running and I love a bit of a challenge. So before I turn 40, I want to do a fun running challenge to mark my 40th and also raise money for 2 causes / NHS services that I am very passionate about.
Challenge – 40Km/week for 40 weeks to raise >£4000 (Challenge UPGRADED on 30/01 and I will be running the rest of the weeks carrying 4kgs of weights - mixed ankle/wrist and back :))
For who?
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St Mary’s Hospital- Manchester University NHS foundation trust
The Christie NHS Foundation Trust – Cancer treatment Centre
Why these services? They represent medical services that I am passionate about personally and professionally. My twins had life-saving neonatal care in 2 different NICU when they were born 10 weeks early and I know many loved ones around the world who suffered with cancer including my own mother. NICU at St Mary’s and the Christie Hospital are excellent examples with one providing annual care for >1600 seriously ill children while the other treat more than 60,000 cancer patients a year in addition to leading cutting-edge research that improves care for everyone around the world
I would invite you all to join me on this journey!
I will provide you with regular updates on my progress towards achieving my 40x 40km (1600km) before I turn 40! I would love it if you can support me to achieve my fundraising target as I cannot do that without you. My hope is to achieve similar amounts for both charities as I value both equally, but please choose the one that you feel more passionate about. No donation is small and any support will be greatly appreciated and valued and will bring me very close to my target. Thank you
