Story

If you were lucky enough to have known Shane Foster, odds are you know how important Whitefish's annual Penguin Plunge was to him. Each year, leading up to his plunge into frozen Whitefish Lake, he'd shout from the rooftops to raise a serious load of cash to benefit Special Olympics Montana. Year after year he would prove to be one of the event's top fundraisers and the organizer of the highest earning team in Whitefish.

Joining Team Foster Freeze is a great opportunity to celebrate and honor the life and spirit of Shane. After you join, you'll help raise money for Special Olympics, then come drink Bloody Marys with us on 02/04/23 before plunging into the frigid waters of Whitefish Lake with the friends, family, and community that loved and appreciated Shane so much!

JustGiving's website is terrible, and trying to join Team Foster Freeze may prove nearly impossible at first. Fear not! Email me at dave@lonetreeinsurance.com. I've created a step-by-step guide with pictures to walk you through it.

About the charity

Our mission is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. Our vision is an inclusive world for all, driven by the power of sport, through which people with intellectual disabilities live active, healthy, and fulfilling lives.
