Story
Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world, and has suffered a great deal over the past few years. It also has a long standing and close relationship with the British Army, with Gurkhas making a significant contribution to the defence of the UK and to the nation at home. All of Team F-O-F (four old fellas…) have been privileged to serve with Gurkhas at home and on operations, as have the military members of our support crew who will help feed, water and encourage us along the hilly South Downs from Portsmouth to Brighton.
This is a significant endurance event for us - for all of us at least our third outing, but we are older and creakier than last time. Whilst it presents a good focus to get out and train in all weathers, it is about the Gurkha Welfare Trust and Oxfam, helping ex-servicemen and their families, and the people of Nepal. Thanks to our kit sponsors NSSLGlobal and OryxAlign, where Neil and Al now work respectively.
For those able to donate, many thanks! :)
