Story
We are participating in Doddie Aid 2023, in memory of Hamish Ewing, our wonderful, much-loved and dearly missed Dad/Grandad/Husband/Brother/Uncle, who sadly lost his courageous and dignified battle with Motor Neurone Disease in May 2021, less than a year after being diagnosed. This cause is close to all of our hearts and we wish to raise awareness and support for other families facing a devastating MND diagnosis, as well as vital research towards finding a cure for this cruel and brutal illness. As has been widely stated by researchers, "MND is not incurable disease, it is is an underfunded disease." This needs to change as quickly as possible.
The nine 'Ewing Warriors' are aiming to collaboratively complete 1000 miles of exercise on foot and bike, before Doddie Aid ends on 12th February, with miles being clocked up in Milton Keynes, West Northants, Oxfordshire, West Dunbartonshire, South-East Asia and Sydney, Australia. We will be hugely grateful for any donations towards this important cause.
Many thanks.
Information about My Name is Doddie Charity:
Doddie's story has transcended the rugby world. To fearlessly face down his diagnosis and improve the research landscape for people living with MND is mind-blowing. And to have done it with a smile never far from his lips, and humour punctuating every call to action, Doddie is an inspiration. Doddie Aid is a way for us all to do our little bit to help him and the Foundation in the quest to find better treatments for MND.
