During this time, our colleagues at esure Group have organised a special virtual fundraiser for local charities struggling the most in this challenging period, so they can continue to provide vital support and services to the most vulnerable in our society.

Over 12 weeks, from Monday 27 April to Monday 20 July, our colleagues at esure Group are hosting a series of events and competitions to support three fantastic causes!

Cyril Flint

Cyril Flint are working during this time of crisis to support the elderly and vulnerable in our community. The charity help the elderly in Trafford, fighting issues of isolation, loneliness and enhancing quality of life.

Volunteers at the charity befriend and check in on the elderly who live alone, who have little to no contact from friends and family and limited community support. During the lockdown, volunteers check in via telephone, Skype or FaceTime to keep in contact. Knowing someone is checking in once a week can make a huge difference.

During this period, the charity are also responding to phone calls to help those who need shopping or prescriptions dropping off.

Barnabus

Barnabus provides vital support to rough sleepers and people experiencing homelessness throughout this Coronavirus crisis and beyond, helping them into homes and new lives.

During this Covid 19 crisis their priority is referring rough sleepers into hotels and other accommodation in Manchester so that they can self-isolate and stay safe, ensuring they receive much needed food, toiletries, essential supplies and emotional/mental support. Theye’re also providing hot lunches to people who are still rough sleeping in the city, encouraging them to take up available support. Every week they are providing approximately 1,800 hot meals and food parcels to homeless people who are temporarily accommodated and rough sleepers.

Mood Swings

Mood Swings help people recover from mood problems and the severe emotional distress they can cause, through their innovative services.

Through the Covid-19 crisis, Mood Swings are operating a helpline and are trying to do more video calling. At this present time, the charity are desperate for funding to cover the costs of new technology for staff working remotely, such as laptops, smart phones and Zoom subscription. The charity are getting an influx of calls from new people and also those receiving regular support, they are also concerned that when this is over they may have huge numbers of new callers who need their support.
