Story
On Sunday 21st March 2021, the ESFA team is joining Grief Encounters inaugural covid-secure 'forget-me-not' walk in memory of someone close and to raise funds for bereaved children, young people and their families across the UK.
Grief Encounter is a valued partner of the English Schools' Football Association and, as an organisation, we would like to promote the important work that they do. As the Governing Body for Schools' Football in England, millions of children are involved in the activity provided by the ESFA each year. The ESFA is keen to spread awareness of Grief Encounter and the support they provide to children, so that this may be communicated to those participating within schools' football, when they need it most.
Both ESFA staff and Council members will be completing their own walks in their own areas, with a view to raising awareness for the charity and raising some money. 100% of the funds raised will go towards supporting bereaved children and young people who have experienced the death of someone close, and families and individuals impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Since March last year, there have been over 100,000 deaths due to Coronavirus. Grief Encounter offer professional support services online, including group workshops, individual e-counselling and memory workshops for all of those who need them. They can't do that without your support. Just £26 could fund a helpline session for someone impacted by grief, offering them immediate help and advice following a bereavement.
Thank you for your support.
