This June, a group of Equinix employees is embarking on a remarkable challenge: cycling a staggering 947 miles over 9 days. Our mission is not just about endurance; it’s about making a real difference. We are riding to raise funds and awareness for two causes close to our hearts: the Alzheimer’s Society and Cancer Research.

Why These Causes? A Personal Story

Behind our journey is a story of personal loss and a call to action. Our team leader, Wayne Ginders, experienced the devastating impact of these diseases firsthand. Within a span of just 83 days, he lost both of his parents—his father to bowel cancer and his mother after a long battle with dementia and Alzheimer's.

"Losing one parent is hard, but losing both so close together was unimaginable. Watching my mum's health decline so rapidly was heart-wrenching," Wayne shares.

Our Goal: To Make a Difference

There are currently no cures for cancer or Alzheimer’s, diseases that touch the lives of millions worldwide. The Alzheimer's Society and Cancer Research are at the forefront of the fight against these devastating conditions.
