Story
Emma expressed that she would much rather help others than receive floral tributes so, as per her wishes, we are fundraising in Emma’s memory for two charities, the UCLH charity and St Joseph’s hospice. You can choose to donate to one or the other, or a little to both.
Em was at UCLH frequently throughout treatment as both inpatient and outpatient. During that time she appreciated the reflexology and next-level snack trolley funded by this charity, the contents of which would never be available on NHS budgets and clearly tailored to the palettes and fancies of chemo patients. The charity also helps fund equipment and additional specialist training for their haematology nurses who are first rate.
The staff at St Joseph’s hospice provided so much for Em in the last few months, ranging from complementary therapies to the practical support which allowed her last weeks to be spent in a non-medical setting, often sitting in the sunshine on her balcony and generally enjoying home comforts with those closest to her, which is exactly what she wanted.
