Story
We're running the London Marathon 2025 for Breast Cancer Now, a charity that means a lot to us as a family.
It's been twenty years since our mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. After her recovery, she worked tirelessly for Breast Cancer Now (then called Breakthrough Breast Cancer) for several years to raise money to fund ground-breaking research.
Since then, the charity has continued to help develop better treatments, prevent and diagnose breast cancer early and improve people's quality of life.
But there's still work to do. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the world. Over 55,000 women and 370 men are diagnosed every year in the UK alone - that's one person every 10 minutes. Already, 1 in 7 women in the UK will develop breast cancer in their lifetime, and this number is increasing.
Breast Cancer Now's vision is that by 2050, everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live and be supported to live well. To achieve this, they need to make more progress against breast cancer in the next 30 years than at any previous time in their history.
The money we raise for the London Marathon will help fund world-class research, life-changing care and provide support for today and hope for the future. We are thrilled to be doing it together and would love your support to help us meet our ambitious goal.
We’ve already started training and enjoyed a couple of long runs together over Christmas, but there is still work to do over the next three months!
