Story
The first time we did this was days before Gregs funeral. In lockdown, we had over 30 friends, children and dogs supporting us and walking, in a convoy of families, along the Prom. Year two, I had covid, so it was only Summer and Callum who joined the other participants, and they missed the support from the previous year, so pledged to spread the word again and get others to join them in the future
This year we are proud that good friends will come together and help raise much needed funds for our local Hospice as part of our fundraising Electric Dreams - in memory of Greg Johnson 💙. The Hospice provide some amazing care and we are thankful and grateful for the helping hand they offer to us and our loved ones when its needed. Please, if you can, sponsor our team and show support, especially to the children (from 2 years old) who are joining us this year 🎅🏽
Brian House provides respite, palliative and end of life care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions. That means we care for youngsters both during the day and overnight, and we support their families at every step of what can be an unpredictable journey.
Theres no such thing as a standard Brian House child they may suffer from a range of complex conditions that impact on every aspect of their lives. We cater for them all, getting to know their likes and dislikes, understanding what their needs are and often forming close relationships with them and their families.
Like all childrens hospices, we work with many other local health care services, including the hospital, to take a joined up view of care, putting the needs of the family at the heart of everything we do.
We can provide:
Support for the entire family (including siblings, grandparents and the extended family)
Specialist short break care
24 hour telephone support
Practical help, advice and inform
