Story

About Dr. Scott:

Nobody will be falling asleep when Dr. Mike Scott hits the dance floor. An anesthesiologist by day, we know that his other activities keep him quick on his feet as he is ready to use some magic to win that Mirror Ball Trophy.

Dr. Scott, also a dedicated intensivist at the Regional, completed his medical school training and residency at the University of Toronto. He then made his way to the north to call Thunder Bay home. We know he is stepping into the spotlight on “Dancing with the Docs” with as much precision as he brings to his medical practice.

When he's not saving lives in the ICU, Dr. Scott is twirling his way through his passions, whether it's the rush of water skiing at Lake Shebandowan or catching the wind with his windsurfing board. A true connoisseur of fine wine, Mike knows that just like a perfect dance, the right vintage requires the right balance. Get ready to see him step, spin, and maybe even pirouette his way into your hearts.

About Alexandra Knudsen:

This ballerina is no stranger to the big stage! Having been a dancer since the age of 4, Alexandra Knudsen is excited to freestyle her way to the top of the leaderboard. Throughout her dancing career she has mastered ballet, jazz, tap, pointe, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop and completed a number of exams. Most notably, she has successfully completed the Advanced 2 Cecchetti Ballet Exam.

Alexandra attended Lakehead University where she completed a Bachelor of Science, Double Major in Biology and Chemistry. She was then accepted into the Pharmacy Program at the University of Toronto. In 2023, she returned to Thunder Bay and accepted her dream job as a Clinical Pharmacist at the TBRHSC.

In her free time Alex enjoys dancing, reading and spending time at her family camp on Shebandowan Lake. You can also catch her on stage this December as she stars as the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Northern Ballet Performance Company’s show, Nutcracker.

While Alexandra was an ensemble dancer during our 2022 event, she is excited for this opportunity to have a bigger impact and support those in her life who have faced a cancer diagnosis. Through her work in the Cancer Centre, she hopes to see the funds help provide better and faster care for those in Northwestern Ontario. Alex can’t wait to bring her freestyle moves to the stage with her partner, Dr. Scott, and bring that Mirror Ball trophy home!
