Story

About Dr. Cole:

Dr. Jeremy Cole might be all about family, but joined Dancing with the Docs to escape the chaos of his current home life—three kids under the age of five makes for a great excuse to get free dance lessons! Between that and the crippling peer pressure, Dr. Cole really had no other choice.

Dr. Cole was locally educated at Lakehead University and continued his education at NOSM, specializing in Family Medicine. He now practices at Mountdale Clinic. Jeremy also shares his knowledge of medicine by teaching and lecturing medical students and residents. You can also find him helping in the operating room—mostly annoying the surgeons with his mediocre humour. But since good help is hard to come by, we appreciate Dr. Cole’s efforts.

Finding that work-life balance may be difficult for some, but Jeremy has an array of interests including hockey, chess, woodworking, computer programming and video gaming. His favourite of all, however, is now adventuring on Disney Cruises with his beautiful wife and young children. This family doc says family first!

Blown away by the inaugural DWTD event in 2022, Jeremy wants to contribute to this wonderful cause and knows what he has to do to win. Will his former training at Chippendales help him reach the top? You’ll have to see for yourself as he showcases an incredible Disco number with his partner, Rachel.

About Rachel:

When we select our dancers, we aim for the stars! Rachel, the owner of Art in Motion, has generously provided our home studio for rehearsals since the very beginning, and we can’t thank her enough. A lifelong lover of dance, Rachel’s passion has blossomed into something remarkable for Thunder Bay.

Rachel has extensive dance training and experience. She attended the Quinte Ballet School of Canada’s Professional Division Summer Program, and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Intensive Summer School multiple times, and took part in the Sundance Canadian Children's Dance Theatre Summer Program. Rachel has completed numerous dance examinations, successfully passing her Advanced 1 and 2 Major Cecchetti Ballet Examinations, which require a very high level of technique and artistry. She was accepted into, and attended, the School of Alberta Ballet and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s Teacher Training Program, where she gained valuable dance teaching experience and training.

Her love of dance has never wavered. Rachel continues to learn, grow, teach, and develop as a professional in the field. An educator at heart, she graduated from Lakehead University with an Honours Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education Degree in 2014. She has experience teaching in London, England, and with the Lakehead Public School Board. Rachel’s goal is to combine her extensive background in education and dance to provide the community of Thunder Bay with exceptional and high-quality dance training.

When not at the studio, you can find Rachel alongside her husband, Alan, their two wonderful boys, Oliver and Charlie, and their dog, Hudson. Rachel’s commitment to both her family and the dance studio reflects her ability to inspire and lead with warmth and enthusiasm. She can’t wait to join Dr. Cole on the dance floor and wow the crowd with their incredible disco routine!
