Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

We want to do this basically, steal all your money and spend it on useless things :)

Obviously we are joking. There is actually a number of reasons why we want to do this:

-First of all it is a challenge, something to work for and to be able to help the community. However we do have reasons that are different from the usual ones you see.

-Both of us, just like many of you, have past experience with mental health issues whether that's we know people around us, friends, family, people we know or us ourselves that suffer or have suffered from mental health issues. We both have something personal that is related to this subject but one thing we have come to realise is that there's always another person going through the same thing as you that will understand. For ourselves and for others, the fundraising we are doing will help aid people who need it.

-Mental health affects 1 in 4 of us and is an increasing issue. No matter where you come from, where you are or what you are currently doing, you can be affected for any reason. All of us go through hardship in life and that's not going to change. So to help make it easier, we want to give as much support as possible to people who are finding it particularly hard.

-Another reason is Covid 19. Now, we have all experienced this, been together in this and know how tough recent times have been, especially during lockdown. We all know how hard lockdown is mentally: the inability to see loved ones and friends, the lack of motivation and no incentive to do what you'd usually do in life. Covid 19 isn't over, there are still people self-isolating; people who haven't been out of their house for weeks, months and even before this all started 2 years ago. It's important to keep a healthy mindset during this time because even though some people have carried on with their lives, some people have not. Some people are still suffering from all those months inside and it's still very dark for some.

-The final reason is that we wanted to do the Great North Run 2022 anyway, and why not team up with a charity while we are at it? We decided to team up with Mind, again due to personal reasons, but also to spread awareness on mental health and to do our part!

With each donation to our page ,and other pages too, is another step closer to aid someone in their battle with mental health. Every donation counts, no matter the size. Your contribution could even help some that you know personally so we’ll do our part and we hope you can do yours!

We would like to thank you for visiting our page and even reading this because there's so many paragraphs we can't even be bothered to read it ourselves! Got to do enough writing in school, why would we want to do more? Well that's what we tell our parents until it gets to parents evening and it turns out our books are actually blank.

Before we start waffling, thank you so much for visiting this page and listening to what we've got to say. We also greatly appreciate any donations made. Thank you for your time.
