Story
On August 25th 2019 our lives changed forever, my beautiful Mum was admitted to hospital and was told by the Doctors they had found something of concern on her scans, that week we was given the most heart shattering news that our Mum was living with a brain tumour. In the weeks that followed she under went several tests and a biopsy what identified the tumour to not only be inoperable but it was also a stage 4 glioblastoma, the most aggressive brain tumour you can have....... My Ma certainly never did anything by half bless her!
Following this tragic news we as a family supported my mum at home and attended all her appointments with the hospital. Unfortunately our hearts broke as my mum past away on 7th October 2019 surrounded by all her family.
As we mark the 5 year anniversary of losing my beautiful Ma to this horrible illness John-John and I have decided to mark this anniversary by joining others in the Walk of Hope a charity that raises money to support people and their families living with brain tumours. The walk is 5k and hosted at Chatsworth house on 28th September.
5k may not seem far but John-John is only 2 years of age with little legs but lots of energy. So please donate what ever you can to support us and the charity.
We will also be supported by other family members at the event who have signed up to walk with us! So please support us in sponsoring what you can.
Thank you so much
John-John and Mummy x
Walk of Hope is our annual national event raising money to bring hope to brain tumour patients and their families.
Every September, hundreds of supporters join Brain Tumour Research Walk of Hope events taking place across the UK or organise their own walks in their community, set up fundraising pages and make donations to help find a cure for brain tumours, which kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer.
More than 3,000 people took part in 2023, raising an incredible sum of more than £300,000 to support our vital work.
This year, our walks will take place in locations including London, Glasgow, Plymouth and Derbyshire, or you can once again organise your own Walk of Hope wherever you are. Will you step forward to help find a cure in 2024?
