Story
We're walking from Chepstow to Monmouth on 11th September, along the beautiful Wye Valley. Up hills and down dales. Spectacular views and probably a fair few bananas will be consumed.
I wish I'd handed the writing of this blurb to someone else. Hopeful we can edit it later? Why are we doing this walk, you ask. We hope to raise money for people living with cancer so that they can get the support of Macmillan nurses. Becky is a paramedic and Jo is a childminder. Both would be my nurses of choice if I was ever in the situation to need help. I'm - for the purposes of this piece - a writer; the least helpful of the three. Can my words help? I don't think so. That's why it's so heartening to know that Macmillan exists - what springs to mind is the amazing care their nurses give to those with cancer. You want them on your side.
We're training for this hike by getting out as often as children and family life allows. 26 miles in one day is a daunting amount (Jo made us do it!), we need to train for it, so please put some money in the pot and we'll use it as our motivation to get to the finishing line of the training and the start of the big day itself. Why, why why... did we do this? Well, apart from the rather serious answer given above, we're also doing it for the love of it - so that we can chat and plod and sing 'Wye Wye Wye Deliliah' - together
