Story

Maldon Mud Race

By DC Marvel Mud Muckers

So here it is, crazy I know, but a group of us decided to enter in to the Maldon Mud Race, almost two years ago now! However, we all know that since 2020 there have been ups and lockdowns due to the COVID Pandemic. Back in 2019 I was listening to BBC Essex, there were two presenters who gave it a go and it sounded like great fun. For some strange reason I mentioned it to Dave and he said “Im in”. Later on I managed to rope Scott in, and now fast forward to 2022 and our good friend Victoria will also be joining us, so the four of us are going to get down and dirty together.

Why is this bizarre? Well, my thing is natural bodybuilding and my comfort zone is in the gym throwing around weights, I don’t like getting dirty and normally I am not very charitable. Dave is a massive marathon runner having done the London, Colchester and Brighton marathons. Scott cycles up mountains and is hugely competitive and Victoria runs long distances very fast and has decided to enter many events including the paras 10 - what a team line up eh!

Competitors and press from all over the world are warming up to join in the fun on Sunday 24th April at the 2022 Maldon Mud Race, Promenade Park.
