*** IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM TEAM DAD’S ARMY ***
We recently received the disappointing news that the 2020 edition of the London Landmarks Half Marathon will not go ahead on Sunday 29 March 2020. The event organisers, along with the rest of the UK, had been closely monitoring the escalating Coronavirus situation and at a time of such uncertainty and worry, felt that it was only right that they do not go ahead with the event.
As you know and can appreciate, this event was special for all of us as it gave us the opportunity to show Dad/Grandad our support during his chemotherapy treatment whilst also raising funds for Bowel Cancer UK.
HOWEVER, our support for Dad/Grandad is ongoing and as a team, just like Dad/Grandad, we refuse to give up! It is because of YOU, our wonderful supporters, that we have been recognised by Bowel Cancer UK as fantastic fundraisers and the charity are therefore delighted to transfer our team onto the Royal Parks Half Marathon on Sunday 11 October 2020 as they, like us, really want us to be able to do our run this year.
As we know you’ll understand, given Bowel Cancer UK’s heavy reliance on funds raised through events like London Landmarks, the financial impact on them as a charity will be significant. They are more than happy to move our sponsorship over to the event, but given the circumstances, they’d be so grateful if we could do all we can to raise even more. COVID-19 is going to impact their work considerably and will make it even harder for them to raise money, so they would be grateful for any additional money we are able to raise.
You are welcome to pass on this Just Giving Page to other friends and acquaintances who you think might like to show their support for Dad/Grandad and Team Dad’s Army!
Much love and thanks for your continued support.
Together, we will soldier on for Dad/Grandad!

Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page. As a team of 4, Julie, Kate, Will & Max are running the London Landmarks Half Marathon 2020 on 29th March.
Together, we are team Dad’s Army raising money for BOWEL CANCER UK.
So, why the London Landmarks Half Marathon and why BOWEL CANCER UK?
Julie and Kate’s Dad (Will & Max’s Grandad), Norman, was diagnosed with bowel cancer in November 2019. Having had major bowel surgery, he started chemotherapy in January 2020 with his treatment due to finish at the end of March this year.
Together, we wanted to show our support for Dad/Grandad during his treatment whilst also raising funds for BOWEL CANCER UK by training for a Half Marathon (the first Half Marathon for 17-year-olds Will & Max and a third Half Marathon for Julie & Kate, who have also previously completed the London Marathon).
There will be tough runs ahead training in the dark during the cold winter months but with Dad/Grandad as our inspiration, Dad’s Army are determined to complete the London Landmarks Half Marathon on Sunday 29th March which coincides with the end of Dad/Grandad’s treatment.
Dad’s Army, along with Dad/Grandad, want to beat cancer and with your support and your kind donation, we will cross that finish line knowing that together, we will have raised valuable funds for the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity, BOWEL CANCER UK, who are determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer.
Their vision, and ours, is a future where nobody dies of the disease.
• £10 can help improve survival and quality of life for people with advanced bowel cancer
• £25 could help campaign for improvements to the screening programme
• £50 can help improve surgical techniques for bowel cancer patients
• £100 could help create a national registry for people with Hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC) or Lynch syndrome
