Story
In the year 2018, our hearts overflowed with gratitude as we welcomed our 3rd child our precious daughter, Cecilia Bonnie Brady, affectionately known as 'Ceci,' into our lives. Ceci brought boundless joy and love to our world from the moment she entered it. However, our journey took an unexpected turn when Ceci was diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome at the tender age of 2—a rare neurogenetic disorder that challenged her every step of the way.
Though Ceci's time with us was tragically brief, she left an indelible mark on our hearts and the hearts of all who knew her. She was more than just our daughter; she was a beacon of light, radiating warmth and joy wherever she went. Ceci's infectious smile and unwavering resilience inspired us each day.
In honor of Ceci's memory and in solidarity with all those affected by Angelman Syndrome, we have embarked on a mission to raise both funds and awareness for this relentless condition. The Cycle For Ceci team has conquered incredible challenges in the past—from Manchester to Edinburgh, Sunderland to Whitehaven, and Leeds to Manchester—and now, they've set their sights on an extraordinary new endeavour: 'Castle to Castle.' This epic cycling journey spans from the northern reaches of Wales to the very southern tip—a testament to the strength and determination of our cause.
As we pedal through the Welsh countryside, our hearts are set on a single goal: to shine a light on Angelman Syndrome and support the vital work of FAST UK in their relentless pursuit of a cure. No family should endure the pain and uncertainty that we face each day, and together, we can make a difference.
Angelman Syndrome touches the lives of approximately 1 in 15,000 individuals worldwide, presenting challenges that range from balance issues and motor impairments to debilitating seizures and severe learning difficulties. With your support, we can empower organizations like FAST UK to provide crucial resources and research that offer hope for a brighter future.
Join us in honouring Ceci's memory and championing the cause of Angelman Syndrome. Together, let's spread awareness, foster understanding, and pave the way for a world where no child or family suffers alone.
With heartfelt gratitude and unwavering determination,
The 'Cycle for Ceci' Team
