Story
In September 2019 a team from the Centre for Trials Research- Cardiff University, undertook a bikeathon in collaboration with our sister CRUK core funded trials units from Southampton and Birmingham. The Cardiff team with their support cycled from Cardiff to Devizes in Wiltshire for a pub quiz with our colleagues. Money was raised for CRUK and is was great to meet up. As this years event is curtailed we have had to adapt our approach but wanted to keep in training.
During Lock down we have therefore joined the baton4cancer relay, joining cancer researchers across Wales, under the auspices of the Wales Cancer Research Centre. Each month a different team or tams takes on the challenge to keep fit (in isolation) and to raise funds for cancer charities.
The CTR team have decided to take up the baton for July 2020 and will attempt to virtually transport the team around the coast of Wales. Hopefully next year we can do some of it for real.
Thanks for your support
