Story
Many of us have been affected or have loved ones who have been affected by cancer. This is our story….
In 2012, our Mother Sylvia found a lump. Not being one who liked a fuss, she hoped it would go away and that lifestyle changes would help. Unfortunately, this was not the case. In November 2012, she was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, stage 4 and our world came crumbling down. She lost her battle a short 7 weeks later and our lives were changed forever.
Sylvia was a soul who loved adventure and took on many in her lifetime including; several masters, that then lead to digging for mammoth bones in South Dakota, trekking across Patagonia for Mencap, setting up a bat club in school and starting her life over again when she became redundant. Our mother was in touch with Mother Earth.
In memory of her, we have decided to take on a challenge that will push us to our limits but in doing so we can help others who need support. We have signed up to complete the 3 peaks challenge. This is completing climbing in 24 hours Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon…..in a sleep derived haze and sugar fuelled most likely!
We understand everyone is supporting a number of charities at the moment and the current climate hasn’t been easy on anyone. Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated by us and by the families this charity supports!
Helen and me are self funding this challenge so all donations will go directly to the charity!
Thank you for all your help and let the dreaded training begin!
