Story
This year Alex, Tori and I will be walking the memory walk as a team supporting one another along the route with laughter, encouragement and possibly a few tears too. The three of us walk together remembering loved and lost parents as well as friends and other family members.
None of us ever want to have to call upon our local hospice! But if and when the time comes for you and your loved ones, we need all the hospices to still be there for us and you and them.
This year will be my first memory walk remembering Dad whom we sadly lost in March 2024 after his very long battle with Parkinson's disease. Both Mum and Dad had an amazing amount of support from their local Hospice (St Clare). I support both St Clare and Kirkwood where I can. I can never repay them for what they have done for my family but every little helps.
For more than a decade, The Kirkwood Midnight Memory Walk has been a special event that brings the community together to honour and remember amazing people. This annual walk is not just a fundraiser but a chance to celebrate the legacy of those special people in our lives. It's a challenge to walk 6 or 10 miles late at night, but with your support, I can take on this challenge. The Kirkwood Memory Walk 2024 is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of patients and families who rely on us during the most challenging times. It's only through the generosity of people like you that we can continue to improve the quality of life for those in need, even against all odds. By sponsoring us, you'll be contributing to the continued work of The Kirkwood and supporting life in your communities for those who need us most.
