I'm running 50 miles in January in support of the Royal Marsden and the Royal Alexandra. Below explains why and there's also some pictures below.

In June 2023, my son was diagnosed with non-hodgkin's lymphoma. You don’t need to be a parent to know that's one of many "worst nightmares" a parent can have.

Luckily, non-hodgkin's lymphoma is one of the more treatable types of cancer and children are particularly responsive to treatment. The amazing treatment and care we received at the Royal Marsden in Surrey and the Royal Alexandra in Brighton and Hove, resulted in Cooper ringing the bell just before Christmas and spending Christmas day and Boxing day at home.

Right now, we await certain "numbers" to return to normal. Once that happens, we can start thinking about having his "tubie" and "wigglies" removed, getting him out and about and building up strength, and then finally back to school.

I’ve set up a team on Just Giving to allow, those of you who would like to donate, the choice of either the Royal Marsden or My University Hospitals Sussex (which the Royal Alex sits within). Any amount to either would be amazing but if you are willing to donate in equal amounts that would be extra special. So, if you are willing to donate £1, please donate 50p to each. Also, when donating to My University Hospitals Sussex, I think you may be able to specify a preference that it goes to the Royal Alex Childrens Hospital in the message, should that be something you would like to do to help it go to supporting children just like Cooper.
