Story
We want to raise as much money as we can for Gully's Place where Connor was cared for in the final weeks of his life. At 16, Connor's cancer returned unexpectedly and gave him only a few short weeks.
Gully's Place made such a difference to the family. The nurses, doctors and physios were amazing, helping to create memories every day.
We want to make sure other families are supported if they ever find themselves in the sad event where they find their child faces his/her end of life.
Gully's Place Trust Fund supports children and young people with life-limiting conditions. Gully's Place Suites at Poole Hospital and Dorset County Hospital provide a homely place for end of life care and after death. The suites also provide facilities to enable transition from hospital to home for children with complex conditions as well as a quiet area for times when we have to break bad news.
Gully's Place Trust Fund also provides equipment to enhance care on the children's ward, specialist training for staff, enhancing the environment for children and families and supports play and education for children during their stay in hospital as well as supporting children and families who require community care.
We support bereaved families across Dorset which includes Gully's Place Bereaved Parents Group, annual memorial services, a closed Facebook group for peer support, dedicated beach hut at Sandbanks, and specialist counselling service.
