Story
On Saturday 13th May, 13 committed “athletes” from the Commercial Sector are taking part in the Dorney Lake Eton Sprints event. The sprint distance consists of a 750m open water swim, 20km bike and a 5km run hosted at the Eton rowing lakes, the 2012 Olympic venue which Mace delivered. 10 out of 13 of the team have never taken part in a triathlon before, so we are setting ourselves the challenge to (hopefully) complete the event in one piece and raise money for a great cause!
You can track our triathletes training regimes on our sector Strava page. Commercial Sector Strava
The team are raising money for one of Mace’s partner charities St Mungo’s. For over 50 years, St Mungo’s has been at the forefront of efforts to tackle homelessness. Each night 17 outreach teams go out to help people sleeping rough to move away from the streets and provide a bed and support to over 3,150 people. St Mungo’s work to prevent homelessness and support people at every step of their recovery from homelessness.
All the money we raise will help more people who are sleeping rough have somewhere safe, secure, and warm to sleep at night. Anything you can afford to share will be greatly appreciated!
Wish us luck!
