Story
A new woodland park has been proposed for Holy Island, Anglesey. The Concept Plan was published early November 2021. It was welcomed by public agencies. On none of the 75 acres proposed is there any public access and this close to Anglesey's top resort settlement of Trearddur Bay, and also close the island's main town of Holyhead.
Chris Parry followed in his father's footsteps when he took over Garreg Fawr farm. Now, sadly, he has died in his mid seventies. I believed that he was also supportive in principle of the woodland park idea for the Garreg Fawr land (within the Google Earth image shown here).
It will now probably be for the public bodies in association with a Holy Island community woodland group to make this proposal a reality. Chris would have wished that the remuneration for making his family land available for the woodland park was a fair and open one. So too, I am sure, would the public bodies.
