Pedalling for Purpose: Conquering the Coast and Castles Challenge in Support of Lia's Wings

As lifelong friends with a shared love for adventure and a passion for giving back, Chris Blackburn, Chris Illingworth, Ross Hallam, and Matthew Lumb are gearing up for an unforgettable journey along the iconic Coast and Castles South cycling route.

Over three days, they'll pedal their way through 180 miles of breathtaking landscapes, tracing the rugged coastline from the historic city of Newcastle to the majestic capital of Edinburgh.

But their ride isn't just about the miles they'll cover or the sights they'll see along the way. They're proud to be raising funds for Lia's Wings, the UK's only aeroplane ambulance charity dedicated to providing urgent medical transfers for babies and critically ill children.

Since 2010, Lia's Wings has been a lifeline for families in their darkest hours, ensuring that children in need of specialist care can access it swiftly and safely. From premature babies in need of intensive care to teenagers undergoing rehabilitation after traumatic injuries, Lia's Wings is there to provide support when it's needed most.
