Story
We are reaching out to our friends in the eyecare community to invite you to share in our ClearVision Optical Founder’s celebration. Many of you were fortunate to know our inspiring founder, Fred Friedfeld. He was an entrepreneur who built relationships across the world through the strength of his character, deep-rooted values, and sincere caring about making the world a better place for others.
Upon Fred’s passing in 2014, the Friedfeld family established a scholarship fund in his memory at the SUNY College of Optometry in New York City, to ensure a positive future for eyecare professionals. Fred was a consummate businessman, making friends everywhere he traveled and touching people with every interaction. Many of you may have experienced a time when Fred provided a learning lesson, sent a personal note or handed out one of his lucky $2 bills. Fred loved to pass on his wisdom and extend his thoughtfulness to others.
Over this past year, our optical community has been challenged in unthinkable ways and each of us has been personally and professionally impacted. We are however encouraged, by the strength of our industry, as we have banded together to support one another to rebuild and reimagine business today. Helping to grow and groom emerging talent in the optical field has never been more important, as they enter the helping profession that we all love.
Throughout the month of May, we will be connecting with all of our trusted business partners to further this pursuit of enhancing the eyecare industry. Over the past several years, the foundation has received over $85,000 in donations and has awarded six scholarship recipients. This is just a small stride in funding the education of future optical professionals. As SUNY celebrates their memorable 50th anniversary year, we are pleased to support the Optometry school's commitment to education. Any monies raised will be matched by ClearVision and will make a meaningful impact on future talent. Your generous contribution is tax-deductible and a great way of remembering Fred’s legacy.
