Ride+Stride is an annual event, taking place this year on the 9th September, during which supporters raise money for the Dorset Historic Churches Trust and for their own church by cycling, walking or riding between any number of our beautiful churches and chapel. DHCT uses half the money raised (£87,000 in 2022) to fund vital repairs to roofs and fabric while the other half is returned to the participating churches to help with their own maintenance. DHCT also grant aid the provision of facilities such as kitchenettes and lavatories so that our churches are flexible enough for use throughout the week for community activities.

This year Team Scrambled Legs, made up of Dan Rootham and Chris Ward, aim to walk to ten of the thirteen Beaminster area churches over a period of a few days leading up to the 9th September. They are currently training hard for this, walking around 40 km a week. Their routes and plans will be written about here as training progresses. This is the first year that Dan and Chris will be participating in this together, although Dan did cycle around eight churches four years ago. And...... the 9th of September is Chris's birthday! Instead of presents and cards, why not sponsor her and Dan for this good cause.
