Story

We are Lee and Stephanie. We are sisters raising money for Alzheimer's because Lee's husband Chris was diagnosed with early onset dementia at the age of 53.

Chris was a builder he has been active and healthly all his life now at the age of 57 can't work, can't drive, struggles to do simple tasks. He cannot communicate properly as he can't find the words. This has a massive impact on family life. There is no cure and Chris' condition will deteriorate, taking him further away from Lee and his two sons Jack and Joe, his parents and all those who love him. We are doing this to raise funds and awareness.

In the UK one person every three minutes will be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

We want to raise this money in the hope that future generations will have better tools to combat this awful disease. Dementia research is desperately underfunded.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
