Story
Growing older is a privilege, and to grow old in good health is something that we wish for everyone. Unfortunately, not all of us have the luxury of good health. It is predicted that 1 in 2 of us will be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetime, which means this is a disease that affects all of us in some way.
Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them.
To celebrate turning 40 and to raise money in memory of our beautiful mum, Tracey Dutton, who sadly lost her battle with cancer in July 2021. From the 16th of October 2023, we will complete various challenges and activities over 365 days to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Some of our challenges will include:
❤ Giving up chocolate & sweets for a whole year
❤ 100 squats a day for a month
❤ 100 Ab Crunches a Day
❤ 10,000 Steps a Day
❤ 24-Hour Dance-a-thon
❤ Mighty Hike 1 - Snowdonia
❤ Mighty Hike 2 - Yorkshire Dales
❤ Mighty Hike 3 - Peak District
❤ Zip Lining (We're terrified of heights!)
As a team, we hope to raise a minimum of £4,000. For context, this amount would - fund a Macmillan Nurse for 3 weeks (£5,000 would fund a nurse for a month!), provide 11 grants for people living with cancer, or help 235 people through the Macmillan Support Line.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast, and secure. Your details are safe; they'll never sell them or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, your money will be sent directly to the charity. So, it's the most efficient way to donate, saving time and cutting costs.
Thank you for your support.
