Raising money for The Fire Fighters Charity and Children's Hospice South West

Story

Firefighters from Avon Fire & Rescue Service (AF&RS) are attempting to climb the distance of Mount Everest to raise money for two charities close to their heart.

Hosted at The Mall, Cribbs Causeway in Bristol on Saturday, 26 October, firefighters, dressed in full uniform, will be climbing the distance it takes to reach the top of Mount Everest and back via a 135 fire engine ladder, from 10am to 4pm. The aim is to raise money for The Children’s Hospice South West and The Fire Fighters Charity.

This event has been organised by Firefighter Chrissie Becker, based at Clevedon Fire Station, who is pictured above with her crew.
