Story
I started losing my eyesight nearly 13 years ago After surviving two strokes at the age of 29. it was a huge shock that this happened to me, I went through denial, anger, depression. I couldnt cope with the thought of not being able to see. The RNIB provided me with counselling which helped me come to terms and start accepting my disability. It’s taken a long time to get to where I am today and I’m truly grateful for the support the RNIB have given to me and thousands of others.
i’m not exactly the athletic type, the most amount of exercise I do are tricep curls where I’m lifting Jaffa cakes to my mouth. But supporting the RNIB and fundraising will be worth the blood, sweat and tears. And a massive thank you to my beautiful daughter who will be my running partner on the day, she is my little rock
If you are free on Saturday, the 7th of May and are able to get to Regents Park (London) to come and support it would be incredible, or if you are a runner and would like to take part then please do sign up for such an amazing cause helping so many people who so desperately need it.
Every day, 250 people in the UK start losing their sight. Too many still face isolation and depression, unable to achieve their potential in a world that blocks their way. RNIB wont stop until every last psychological and physical barrier has gone for good.
With your help, RNIB can be there when people need them most, support independent living, create an inclusive society and prevent avoidable sight loss. Every pound you donate is helping create a future where sight loss is no longer a barrier.
