Hello everyone!

To mark the week of World Cancer Day, we’ll be hosting a community fundraiser on Saturday 8th February at Little Melton Village Hall to raise critical funds for our brilliant local cancer charity here in East Anglia, the Big C, and for Cancer Research UK, the world’s largest cancer research charity, who carry out groundbreaking research into prevention and treatment of the disease.

Between 10 am and 1 pm the Hall will be open for you to join us for teas, coffees, and a whole bunch of delicious cakes. We’ll also have a few games set up for families to enjoy and a tombola, so please do come on down and get involved.

Few of us will have the good fortune to live our lives without being touched by this cruel disease in some way or another. Whether its in memory of a loved one, in tribute to those we care for living with cancer, or an investment in a healthier future for us all, we’re hoping that you’ll all join us in raising money for these fantastic charities that do the important work on the ground to give us all that much needed hope for the future.

Personally, I'm raising money with my extraordinary Grandad (who we all miss horribly) and my fierce Mum in mind. The pioneering studies supported by Cancer Research UK are constantly giving those we love new treatment options while the team at the Big C have done so much to provide our family with support after their diagnoses. This ranges from offering complimentary therapies to ease the side effects of cancer treatment, to providing the treasure-trove charity shops my Mum frequents to feed her new obsession with crochet. An obsession that helps to make otherwise rubbish sick days at home feel a bit more bearable!
