Level Water use the power of swimming to change lives. Team Cake Crusaders and the extra slice (Helen, Caroline, Jo, Nic, Mike, Dave, Rich, Nino, Jon & Larry) will be using the power of their swimming to help Level Water raise £50,000 so that children with disabilities have the opportunity to learn to swim.

We are a group of friends, some old, some new, some young, some no so, who have been bought together through a shared love of swimming and cake.

The Challenge is simple......as a team we will swim in relay for 24 hours. Each swimmer will swim for a minimum of 5 hours during the challenge. It’s not a race, no one is being timed or tracked. The challenge is in the longevity, not just the finish line. It’s about keeping each other motivated and focused during the tricky night swims. It’s the hugs at the end of each hour knowing you’ve just ticked another hour off. It’s cheering each other on at 4am when tiredness feels inevitable and the sun just starts to rise. It’s being huddled around the fire sharing stories and hot chocolate and dancing around to keep warm. Oh, and lots of cake!

Our motivation?..... knowing that we are doing it all to raise money for swimming lessons for children with disabilities. It’s knowing that, one day, they might be able to take part in this challenge with their friends or family because of our efforts to fundraise. It’s knowing that we are using the power of our swimming to change lives, and that’s all pretty wonderful!
