Story
We are taking on the Three Peaks Challenge, to raise funds for a second Ultrasound Scanner the Emergency Department at Broomfield Hospital.
Since 2010, our Emergency Department has served an increasing number of patients, from 65,269 annually to 129,758 in 2023. The demand on our services has grown exponentially, making it vital for quality equipment to deliver excellent, innovative care and training.
Raising these funds enables us to purchase additional medical equipment which is above and beyond the essential equipment funded by the NHS. This will empower the ED team to make effective clinical decisions quickly, help more patients and enhance positive patient experience during their hospital journey.
Support us in this challenge and help us provide better care for our community!
Led by Dr. Ajay Thomas MBBS MRCP FRCEM who is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at Broomfield Hospital, part of the Mid and South Essex University Hospitals Group. With a distinguished medical career spanning three decades, Dr. Thomas is committed to providing exceptional care to the community.
Hidden within each of us is an extraordinary force. Physical and mental fitness are the triggers that can release it.
In April 1999, Dr. Thomas ran the London Marathon to raise funds for the Emergency Department at Broomfield Hospital. Reflecting on his past achievement, he shares, "It feels awesome to do something even more challenging with a terrific team, a quarter of a century later!"
