Story
Hey everyone! As you know, it was my mission this year to give back to some of the charities that have helped us through some of our worst times in the last year.
Myself and my family are taking part in the Virtual Kiltwalk in aid of the Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity 💜🌈
They do so much work to look after and give to the families in need within really tough situations across the Glasgow Hospitals, including the Royal Hospital for Children where Brodie was born, has had multiple surgeries and has continued ongoing and long term care.
We have been those parents sitting at a bedside for 12 hours+ a day, hoping for the best and praying for better times. When Brodie was in NICU, the first day he was born, the charity donated a box of teddies called “Miniboos”, one for Brodie and one for me. Whenever Brodie and I were apart, we each had our own “Boo” to hold and smell so that we could always feel like we were together. We then swapped them everyday so the smell was always fresh. This may seem like such a small thing, but it meant the world to me to have something that smelled of Brodie during our heartbreaking times apart for the first couple of months of his life. Brodie still sleeps with “Boo” today! ♥️
They also fund huge things like grants for families struggling due to their circumstances, it helps pay for Play Therapy for children in hospital, they have funded iPads for children to stay in touch with families during the pandemic and so, so much more.
I know these are such hard times, but we appreciate every single penny that you have donated in the last 6 months. It means the world to us!
So Ryan, Brodie and I are going to walk 10K (maybe more!!!) between the 23rd and 25th of April and help raise some money for one of the charities that have helped us so far in our journey. Our family have all signed up too, so if you feel up to it, you could even join our team (Brodie’s Buddies) and take part too! 💜
So much love as always, team Brodie Bear 🧸🌟♥️xxx
