Story

Botton Village’s Care Farm Manager, Robin Asquith, and a group of friends and colleagues are taking the Three Peaks walk on Saturday 30 May to raise money to mark Camphill Village Trust’s 65th anniversary.

Robin, will join forces with his friends Adam Bedford of the National Farmers’ Union and Arran Smith, Adam and Robin hatched the plan after being made aware of Botton’s landmark birthday celebrations late last year.

“We wanted to do something that would be a real challenge for us. At Camphill Village Trust we encourage the people we support to challenge themselves each and every day as that’s a crucial element of a life of opportunity. We’ve done walks and runs before, but nothing as exhausting as this will be. We start at 6am and hope to finish by 7pm, it’s a long day’s walking!

The best thing about the Three Peaks is that colleagues and community members can join us for stretches of the walk for as long as they can, but if they get tired or want to stop they can. So it means anyone can get involved if they want to, which is a really important part of Camphill Village Trust life.

Robin, Adam and Arran will also be joined by community member and keen farmer Adam, Botton Village’s General Manager, Wayne Mason, and Camphill Village Trust’s Director of Care and Support, Janine Moorcroft and Pauline Rabet, Occupational Therapist student who works on the farm with Robin, to form a formidable team for the hike which is expected take up to twelve hours.

“We haven’t set a target yet but its such a special year for the charity and we do so much to help so many people, we are hoping to raise as much money as possible.
