Story

Marie Curie is a charity very close to our hearts and for whom we as a family have done much fundraising in the past. As many of you may know, Bob (who was Lucas's father, David and Dan's youngest brother and Katie's uncle) sadly passed away in 2009 in the Marie Curie Hospice in Bradford after a two year battle with cancer. It was an incredibly difficult time for the whole family however we have never forgotten the exceptional care that Marie Curie provided to him and his loved ones at the end of his life during his three month stay in their Bradford hospice. Lucas undertook his first charity run for Marie Curie aged 3 and will this time, a week after his 18th birthday, be joining his two uncles Dan and David and cousin Katie in their first half marathon, the Great North Run in Newcastle where they will run as 'Bob's Bunch'.

Fundraising is our opportunity to give something back to Marie Curie for all of the support they gave us through those most difficult times and to help others be looked after and cared for so expertly by Marie Curie and we would be most grateful for your sponsorship in this great event.
