Story
A team at BMI The Sloane hospital are taking part in the 'May Anyway' Challenge - to walk, jog or run a distance of either 50K or 100K (per person) throughout the month of May.
We have chosen to raise funds for St Christophers Hospice, who recently cared for the husband of one of our colleagues. During this coronavirus outbreak, hospices need funds more than ever and we are grateful for any donations and support you are able to give.
At St Christophers Hospice their vision is of a world in which all dying people and those close to them have access to the care and support they need, when and wherever they need it. They were founded in 1967 by Dame Cicely Saunders and 50 years later, her words still remain at the heart of everything they do: You matter because you are you and you matter until the last moment of your life.
Every pound you raise really does make a big difference. Here are a few examples of how your donation can help:
£10 could pay for a haircut for a patient
£25 could pay for arts and crafts materials for patients to express themselves and whatever emotions they may be feeling through art therapy
£80 could pay for one of our nurses for a day, providing personal attention and expert care for our patients
£100 could pay for a group therapy evening session for bereaved children and young people
