Story
After 5 years, we are back to tackle it again. Thats right, we are going to do the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge within 12 hours and we are going to smash it!
This time its me, Leo, Brian, Duncan and Jordan with our support crew consisting of Sue, Maverick and Clover...mum promises she will carry the gin, champagne and fruit cake....all the right provisions!!
We were planning to do this walk last year but COVID hit and we had to postpone. It was hard to choose a charity as so many are in need of fundraising but we agreed on Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice in Moggerhanger. We lost my grandfather early this year and we asked for donations for the same cause so we decided to carry on fundraising for them as it is such an imporant chariet
thank you to everyone who has donated and visited the page, it means so much to us, it will get us up all the peaks.
loads of love to you all xxx
Lockdown, PPE and visitor restrictions didnt stop Sue Ryder. They kept on caring because people like me cared too.
But there is one thing that could stop them now. With less income from their shops and many fundraising events cancelled this year, they already have £2m less coming in each month than they need to keep running at full capacity.
We are now in a second national lockdown; every week Sue Ryder's shops are closed the charity loses an additional £500,000.
Coronavirus cases are on the rise again and conditions like cancer are going untreated. Sue Ryder Nurses and healthcare staff are needed more than ever at a time when they simply dont have enough funding. Were facing an end-of-life care crisis the likes of which weve never seen before.
