Story
Our brother Toby passed away unexpectedly in July this year. A profound loss and tragedy that we, as a family, and as individuals, are still struggling but trying to come to terms with and process.
The loss of Toby is steeped in sadness that his life and his life’s potential and legacy have been cut so short. At the age of 27 he had barely got going making his beautiful mark on this mad world. It feels cathartic to try to make something positive out of our profound shared loss. Ollie, Ben and myself are attempting to run the London Marathon 2023 to raise money for this charity; Grief Encounters and anyone indirectly going through grief, loss and dark times so we kindly ask you to donate whatever you can spare so Grief Encounter can help provide some solace and respite to grieving families.
Doing this marathon in his memory is a positive way for us to exist in this strange, tragic space of suspended shock together. A way to celebrate our beloved, special brother which he would have delighted him. When it’s hard and the going gets tough, as it will do, we will dig deep and remember every step is for him.
On behalf of CMBD team a massive thank you for reading this and donating if you can.
Many Thanks,
The CMBD Team.
