Story
On Sunday 16th June, our team of pioneering scientists and British Heart Foundation supporters, led by Sir Patrick Vallance, will be taking on the London to Brighton bike ride. And we need your support to get us to the finish line!
Cycling 54 miles from Clapham Common to the Brighton seafront, we want to raise vital funds for cutting-edge research into new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cardiovascular diseases – still the world’s biggest killers.
Thanks to the public’s generosity, the BHF is the UK’s leading independent funder of cardiovascular research, and we all have a close connection to this brilliant charity and cause. The work of the BHF helps to save and improve countless lives every year. So, by supporting us to get on our bikes (including a tandem!), you’ll be supporting an amazing charity continue to power lifesaving breakthroughs.
Thank you and wish us luck!
And in case you want to know why this is so important, The British Heart has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help us hit our target. Thanks!
