Story
As you know, we lost my Dad to cancer in July 2019, nine months after his diagnosis. During this time, he spent, in total, just over 12 weeks at the Cynthia Spencer Hospice in Northampton. Most patients usually only spend a few days at the hospice, either for rest bite care or for their final days so my Dad certainly got his money's worth. He was of course popular with all the staff, who said it was "like welcoming an old friend" upon his final admittance.
What you probably don't know is since November, my sister-in-law Zoe and I have been doing the Couch to 5k. Now, being a bit of a lump (Nicola), I'm not a runner by any sense of the word but this challenge has been great to get me out, especially working from home.
So, our next challenge. During the month of February, Zoe and I will be attempting Spencer's Mission, 28 miles in 28 days to raise vital funds for the Hospice. If you have any spare pennies, please consider donating to our cause.
As a charity, they need to raise £3 every minute to continue to provide specialist palliative care to their patients and families in our local community. Please help by sponsoring my miles as I strive to make each one count whilst their care team continue to work tirelessly on the front line throughout the pandemic to help others in need!
Your support is truly appreciated. Thank you!
