On 1st August, the three of us – Duncan and Catriona from Bute & Cowal Vets, together with Louise from MSD Animal Health – will be taking on the Dunoon Coastal 10K to raise money for Vetlife.

Every day, those of us working in the veterinary profession have the privilege of caring for animals and supporting the people who love them. It is a hugely rewarding career, but it can also be emotionally demanding, stressful and, at times, incredibly challenging.

Vetlife is an independent charity that provides free, confidential support to everyone in the UK veterinary community – including veterinary surgeons, nurses, students, receptionists and practice staff. Whether someone is struggling with their mental health, financial worries, addiction or other personal difficulties, Vetlife is there when it's needed most.

We hope our 10K challenge will help raise awareness of the fantastic work Vetlife does, as well as some much-needed funds to help them continue supporting those who dedicate their lives to caring for animals.

Training has involved plenty of miles (and a few sore legs!), but knowing we're running for such an important cause makes every step worthwhile.
