In January it will be 50 years since we lost our darling daddy, Barry Rose, to Leukaemia at the very young age of 37. Barry's daughters Bettina and Lisa, together with their daughters, Nicole and Hayley have teamed up to raise funds for Anthony Nolan. They will be walking at least 350 miles between them during the month of December in his memory. Every Step Counts when it comes to saving the lives of people with blood cancer, so we're stepping up our step count this month.

Today, five people will start their search for a stranger to save their life. Anthony Nolan is a pioneering charity that saves the lives of people with blood cancer. Every day, they match remarkable donors willing to donate their blood stem cells to people who desperately need lifesaving transplants.

It costs £40 to add each new donor to the Anthony Nolan stem cell register.
