Story
On 22rd May 2022, our friend Simon Robinson (Robbo) tragically passed away after a short but brave battle with Lymphoma.
Simon touched the lives of so many people in Hong Kong, including me. The 3 years I had with Simon were filled with laughter, beer, some very late nights on the dancefloor and a LOT of running.
So what better way to tribute the big beautiful man than running 5km every day.
No off days, no rest days. 2½ years of running every day.
27th September 2024 will mark 1,000 continuous days, finishing at Simon's memorial bench in Bangor, North Ireland, his home town.
To mark this momentous occasion I'll be running a 100km non stop from Newcastle NI to Simon's bench in Bangor. That's roughly 2½ marathons!
The last 1,000 days have brought a fair few interesting runs. Going viral on Twitter during a muddy Glastonbury Festival. Nearly getting arrested in Hong Kong International Airport running around the terminal during an international layover. Battling through some nightmarish hangovers.
The thing that gets me out of my bed and into my running shoes every morning, whatever the weather, is the thought of you, Simon.
I'm trying to stop anyone else succumbing to this horrible disease by raising £1,000 for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Northern Ireland, which will be support research at Queens University Belfast.
Please donate whatever you can and help me to honour Simon Robinson ❤️
